Meerut: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath described Prime Minister Narendra Modi as the “architect of a new and modern India,” asserting that no minister reviews departmental projects as extensively as the Prime Minister reviews development works across the country.
Addressing a large gathering in Mohiuddinpur, Meerut, on the occasion of the inauguration of the full Delhi–Meerut Namo Bharat Rapid Rail corridor and the Meerut Metro, the Chief Minister said the Prime Minister’s “Viksit Bharat” vision is receiving global appreciation for combining world-class infrastructure with inclusive governance.
₹12,930 Crore Projects Dedicated to the Nation
The Prime Minister dedicated development projects worth ₹12,930 crore to the nation. These include the 5-km Namo Bharat section from Sarai Kale Khan to New Ashok Nagar in Delhi and the 21-km stretch from Meerut South to Modipuram, completing the entire Delhi–Meerut Namo Bharat corridor. The 21-km Meerut Metro corridor from Meerut South to Modipuram was also inaugurated.
The Chief Minister said the projects would significantly strengthen connectivity between Delhi and Meerut, reducing travel time and boosting trade, employment, and overall quality of life. He noted that where commuters once struggled for four to five hours due to congestion, the journey can now be completed in 45–50 minutes via modern expressways and rapid rail.
India Advancing with Modern Infrastructure
Highlighting the expansion of high-speed and safe public transport systems such as Namo Bharat, Vande Bharat, Amrit Bharat trains, waterways, expressways, and dedicated freight corridors, Yogi Adityanath said India is rapidly building infrastructure that reflects its growing global stature.
He also referred to the recent foundation-laying of a semiconductor plant in Gautam Buddh Nagar, saying India under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership is proactively preparing for future technological challenges.
Global Recognition for Digital India
The Chief Minister cited international praise for India’s digital transformation, referencing remarks made by Emmanuel Macron during a global summit in New Delhi. He said global leaders lauded India’s ability to provide digital identity to 1.4 billion people and extend healthcare coverage to over 500 million citizens under Ayushman Bharat, describing it as an unprecedented achievement.

“PM’s Monitoring Culture Driving Results”
Yogi Adityanath emphasized that the Prime Minister recently chaired the 50th review meeting of major infrastructure projects, adding that such rigorous monitoring was absent before 2014. “The scale at which the Prime Minister reviews development work is unmatched. No minister reviews departmental work with such intensity,” he remarked.
He added that projects worth ₹85 lakh crore that had been pending for decades have been fast-tracked and implemented over the past ten years under the Prime Minister’s supervision.
Invitation for Major Upcoming Inaugurations
The Chief Minister invited the Prime Minister to inaugurate the Major Dhyan Chand Sports University in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh’s first sports university, and the nearly completed Noida International Airport in Jewar. He also requested that the Prime Minister lay the foundation stone and later inaugurate the newly approved Noida Metro route.
Tribute to Meerut’s Revolutionary Legacy
Paying homage to Meerut’s historic role in India’s First War of Independence, the Chief Minister remembered freedom fighters such as Dhan Singh Gurjar, Rao Kadam Singh, Shahmal, and Matadin Valmiki, who ignited the struggle for freedom from this very land.
Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Modi was welcomed at Shatabdi Nagar helipad by the Chief Minister. The two leaders travelled together on the metro from Meerut South to Shatabdi Nagar and interacted with schoolchildren, medical students, and specially-abled passengers during the journey.
Several Union and state ministers, Members of Parliament, and local representatives were present at the event.
